How I Help

Keep Your Business Fully Compliant

The Fine Art and IP arenas are relatively new players to the ever-growing world of compliance.

Whether you are an Art Market Participant or an IP firm, I can assess your specific compliance requirements, identify and recommend what operational changes you may need to make in your day to day practice so that you can be assured that you have taken the right road along the compliance path.

My consultancy is not about the theory of compliance – it is about how you can work and function and run your business in a compliant way.

I work and consult in the following areas

Anti-Money Laundering and CFT

Following the implementation of the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017, Art Market Participants and IP Firms are faced with new challenges regarding their client base and with whom they enter into business transactions. I work with clients to assess their client base, look at their client risk areas, and to recommend to and collaborate with clients to ensure safe working practices from an Anti-Money Laundering perspective.

Sanctions

With the introduction and continuing growth of The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, clients need to be fully aware of not only Sanctions restrictions but also their reporting duties and responsibilities as a UK business. I assist clients in addressing their Sanctions’ compliance needs and implement practical solutions to keep them up to date and aware of the complexity of worldwide sanctions regimes.

Criminal Finances Act 2017

As global industries, corporate Art Market Participants and IP firms need to consider who they work with and who they collaborate with, both in the UK and worldwide. In conjunction with specific clients’ needs I develop appropriate client procedures to ensure that they do not fall foul of this intricate legislation.

Regulatory Compliance

For Art Market Participants, who do not have a sole regulator and for the IP industry, which is regulated by the Intellectual Property Regulation Board, regulatory compliance will continue to grow. In addition, businesses now have responsibilities in areas such as Modern Slavery, Whistleblowing, the General Data Protection Regulations (and associated UK law) and the growth of Corporate Social Responsibility issues.
I help clients make decisions as to the application (if any) of these particular areas in their business. Of particular interest is the growing requirements expected of IP firms when tendering for work with government bodies or large multi-national and corporate organisations.

I also assist clients in their compliance recruitment process, drafting job descriptions and acting as an independent interviewer.

I am also available for short to mid-term In house secondments.

You can read more about exactly what I do to provide these compliance services, however please do contact me if you have any queries.
