About Me

About Maria O’Sullivan

Originally from West London, I am a dual qualified and experienced solicitor of England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. I initially qualified in England, following my apprenticeship in private practice in Westminster. I ran my own legal firm, in rural West Cork from 2001-2014, following which I returned to London.

In 2016 I grasped the opportunity to leave the legal world of private client law and transition into Compliance, with a specific interest in Anti-Money Laundering, and I completed the International Compliance Association qualification in Anti Money Laundering (Merit).

In Summer 2016, I joined the London offices of Keltie LLP, an Intellectual Property Practice. Initially my dual role at Keltie was split between Director of Operations for K2IP Limited, a virtual IP firm, and Head of Compliance for Keltie LLP, K2 IP Limited and Keltie Limited (Ireland). The combination of a compliance and an operational role was a brilliant opportunity to develop my understanding of process-led compliance.

Having run my own law firm for 14 years I am acutely aware that so much time can be consumed dealing with regulatory and compliance matters. In January 2020 I established Maria O’Sullivan LLP to meet the growth in demand for compliance services in the Fine Art and the Intellectual Property arenas.

Current and prior professional memberships include the International Compliance Association, Chartered Institute of Trademark Attorneys, Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, the British Italian Legal Association, the City of London Law Society and the Worshipful Company of Solicitors of the City of London.

I am an avid theatre fan and in 2017 set myself two goals – to educate myself in Cricket and Opera – the education is ongoing!

My website explains more about how I can help businesses achieve their compliance goals, and feel free to contact me if you have any queries.
